Three 15-year-old boys have been charged over the fire at the former Kitty's nightclub in Kirkcaldy.

The building on Hunter Street went up in flames on Sunday afternoon.

The trio will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Gordon Stanford said: “We know this incident has had a significant impact in Kirkcaldy and we would like to offer our thanks to the local community and partners in the emergency services for their assistance in this investigation.”

Six appliances plus two height trucks were on scene during the worst of the blaze.

It is the third time the building has gone on fire in the past year.

The nightclub closed in 2019, according to online reports.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) confirmed nobody was hurt in the latest incident.
