Three in hospital as fire takes hold at luxury Cameron House hotel
Dozens of firefighters were called to the scene on the banks of Loch Lomond.
Two adults and a child, believed to be from the same family, are in hospital after a fire broke out at one of Scotland's best known hotels.
Flames took hold at the Cameron House resort, on the banks of Loch Lomond, at around 6.40am today (Mon).
Dozens of firefighters were called to the scene.
Pictures on social media showed guests and staff standing outside the hotel while emergency services took control of the area.
A spokesman for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: "We received a call at 6.44am today to attend an incident at the Cameron House hotel.
"We dispatched two ambulances and our special operations response team to the scene.
"Three patients - two adults and one child - were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital."
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said officers were carrying out a search of the building, which has more than 130 bedrooms.
A spokeswoman said: "The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 6.41am on Monday December 18 to reports of a fire that had taken hold within Cameron House Hotel, Balloch.
"Operations Control has mobilised a total of 12 appliances to the scene.
"Firefighters are currently in the process of searching the building while fighting the fire using powerful water jets.
"The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service remains in attendance.
