Teenager in hospital after collision with black cab taxi in Edinburgh

A 13-year-old boy has suffered leg injuries following a collision with a black cab taxi in Edinburgh this afternoon.

The incident happened around 12.35p.m on St Johns Road, in the Corstorphine area, outside the Tanz tanning salon.

The cab stopped at the scene and the boy has been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

At this time it is not believed he has sustained any life-threatening injuries.

The road was closed to allow an investigation, but has since reopened.

Inspector Davie Ferguson from Corstorphine Police Station said: " As part of our ongoing inquiries we are keen to hear from any motorists or members of the public who witnessed this incident and I would urge them to contact police immediately should they have any information."
