Teen charged after fire at former Fife High School

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged by the police.

A teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with a fire at a former Fife high school.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called to the old Viewforth High School in Kirkcaldy on Saturday August 15.

Crews worked through the night to tackle the blaze with six fire engines in attendance at the height of the incident.

Nearly a fortnight later police confirmed a 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged.

A statement from officers in Fife said: 'A 16 year-old male youth has been arrested and charged in connection with this incident.

'A full report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

'Officers would like to thank the public for their help with this inquiry.'
