Taxi rank assault leaves victim with serious head injury

A man is in hospital with a serious head injury after an assault at a taxi rank in Falkirk during the early hours of this morning.

The 34-year-old was attacked on the town's Newmarket Street by a man with a stocky build, shaved head and wearing a bright red t-shirt at around 3.15am

The victim was initially taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital but later moved to the Western General in Edinburgh.

It's thought the suspect left the scene in a silver mini-cab.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the assault to get in touch on 101.
