Serious road accident causes disruption in Fife

Emergency services attended a major road traffic collision on the A92 near Kirkcaldy this afternoon.

The northbound carriageway was closed between the Redhouse Roundabout and the Bankhead Roundabout into the evening.

It's thought the crash involved an HGV and a car, though it's not yet known if anyone was hurt.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson told Forth News:"The Scottish Fire and Rescue service were mobilised to a serious road traffic collsion on the A92 near Kirkcaldy this afternoon, Monday April 5th.

"The SFRS East Regional control room recieved a call for assistance from Police Scotland at 3.05pm and resources from Kirkcaldy, Methill and Glenrothes were immediately dispatched to the scene, along with an incident support unit from Bathgate.

"The incident on the A92 involved a car and an HGV, and at 5pm crews were still at the scene.

"There is no further info available at this time."
