Victim suffers "facial injuries" after assault on train between Edinburgh and Dundee

A victim has been left with "serious facial injuries" after being assaulted on a train travelling between Edinburgh and Dundee.

The British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident last Saturday (September 24) between 11:15pm and midnight aboard the service.

Officers received multiple calls about an "aggressive male."

The assault itself is believed to have happened sometime between Edinburgh Waverly and Kinghorn.

The suspect is described as white, 6ft tall and had bleached blonde hair. He was also wearing an orange t-shirt.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened to come forward and assist their investigation.
