Serious concern for welfare of missing Edinburgh woman

There are serious concerns for the welfare of a woman with diabetes who's gone missing in Edinburgh without potentially life-saving medication.

Tracy Simpson was last seen on Grange Loan between 6pm and 6.30pm last night.

She's not been in contact with anyone since then.

Without her medication it's feared she could take unwell.

She is described as white, 5ft 2ins tall with a slim build, long browinsh red har that is likely to be tied back and wearing a bright pink hooded top, black jacket, navy jeans and light-coloured Nike trainers. Tracy also has a rash at the corners of her mouth and may have dressings on both wrists.

Inspector Norman Towler from Howdenhall Police Station said: "It has now been potentially over 12-hours since Tracy took her medication and that gives us great cause for concern for her health.

"We are eager to trace her as soon as possible to ensure she is alright and anyone who believes they have seen her since Thursday evening, or who has information that can assist with our ongoing inquiries, should contact police immediately.

"Tracy is not believed to have much money with her so will either be travelling on foot, or utilising public transport. She has links to the Bonnyrigg area and may look to head there, so we will be conducting search activity in this area as well as within the city.

"If Tracy sees or hears this appeal, I would urge her to get in touch with family, friends, or with police, to let us know she is safe.
