Second gunshot reported in Edinburgh as police investigate

It comes a day after a 'targeted' shooting in the Niddrie area of the city

Another gunshot has been heard in Edinburgh, just a day after a ‘targeted’ shooting was reported in the west of the city.

This latest incident happened at a home on West Pilton Bank, prompting road closures on West Pilton Road and Pennywell Road. Police are urging the public to avoid the area.

Officers responded to reports of a firearm possibly being discharged around 7:55 am. No injuries have been reported.

A significant police presence remains in the area as investigations continue. Inspector Alan Healy acknowledged "concerns" from local residents, urging anyone with information or worries to speak with officers.
