Runrig have announced a 2nd farewell concert in Stirling after 25 thousand tickets for their final performance were snapped up within minutes last week.

The legendary Celtic rock band, who were formed in 1973, will now play Stirling's City Park on Friday 17th August 2018 as well as Saturday 18th.

Founding member and percussionist Calum Macdonald said: “Announcing The Last Dance has brought with it so many mixed emotions. We’ve been overwhelmed and humbled by the response and the love from our fans.

"We’re delighted to be able to add an additional concert and promise it will be a night to remember. It will be emotional; it will be fun; it will be entertaining; but amongst all, it will be a special evening saying farewell.”

Many fans were left disappointed after the tickets for the original gig sold out within minutes of going on sale last Friday only to appear on resale websites shortly afterwards with prices coming close to £1000.

Runrig issued a statement condemning the touts and reassuring fans they would try to make sure no one missed out.

Tickets for the extra concert will go on sale at 10am on Thursday
