Police in Broxburn have uncovered cannabis plants thought to be worth up to £780,000.

Around 1,300 plants were found by officers on a routine patrol at the Albyn Industrial Estate just after 10am on Tueday.

Both suspects, aged 33, were due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

Police have said they are working to crack down on drug crime in the area.

Detective Inspector John Irvine said: "Drugs cause nothing but misery in our communities and we are dedicated to disrupting the activities of those involved in their supply.

“Recoveries such as this are an important part of our work to address drug-related crime in our communities.

"We rely on information from the public to support our efforts and would encourage anyone with concerns about drugs in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
