Train services hit for the rest of the week as RMT strike action resumes
Services will be disrupted by two 48-hour walk outs
It’s a case of New Year – same old pay dispute as Scotland’s commuters face a disrupted return to work on the railways.
Four days of industrial action by the RMT this week will mean a severely reduced service on Scotrail with train services confined to the central belt only, running less frequently and for reduced hours.
Members of the union who work for Network Rail will be taking part in 48-hour strikes on Tuesday 3rd & Wednesday 4th January, then again on Friday 6th & Saturday 7th January.
Scotrail says it will only be able to operate the same reduced timetable on Thursday 5th January because of the knock-on effect of the strike action
The company says due to the closing and reopening of signal boxes at different times throughout the day.
