Raiders steal cash after function at rugby club
Two men have forced entry to a function at sports club in West Lothian and escaped with a four-figure sum of cash.
The incident happened about 12.45am on Saturday at Livingston Rugby Club on Almond South Road, Craigshill.
Staff were clearing up after a private function when the men forced their way in and demanded money.
The suspects, who spoke with local accents, made off with a four-figure sum.
Police say inquiries are continuing to trace the suspects and anyone with information is asked to come forward.
The first man is described as white, late 20s to early 30s, 5ft 9in tall with a slim build and a brownish red beard.
He was wearing a balaclava with the lower half of the face exposed, a dark baggy jacket with white hood underneath, dark Adidas joggers and Nike trainers.
The second suspect was white, mid 20s to mid 30s, between 5ft 10in and 6ft tall with a slim build, and a balaclava covering most of his face. He was wearing dark clothing and dark gloves and had a hessian Asda bag.
Chief Inspector Liz Macleod said: `This was a really distressing experience for the staff at the rugby club and we are pursuing a number of lines of inquiry to trace the men responsible.
`If you saw any suspicious activity around the venue or the Craigshill area during the early hours of Saturday morning then please contact police immediately.
`In addition, I would urge anyone with any further information relevant to this investigation to get in touch.'
