The Scottish Government is under growing pressure to release a list of hospitals and health buildings across the country which have been deemed "at risk" structurally.

A Forth News investigation previously found each of Scotland's health boards have compiled a list of their own buildings where checks are being carried out to ensure they are safe.

It follows an inquiry into the Edinburgh school crisis - where 17 primaries and secondaries were forced to close last year as structural defects were discovered in each. A report into the issue found that poor construction was to blame but also stated that it would be "naive" to assume that the problems will be exclusive to schools or Edinburgh.

We've now seen a statement from Scotland's Health Secretary Shona Robison which says that wards may need to be closed in order for "intrusive surveys" to be carried out.

"This is particularly challenging for health facilities as intrusive surveys would often require a ward or facility to be closed." - Shona Robison

However, the list of health facilities which may be impacted is currently secret.

We took our findings to Scottish Conservative Public Health spokesperson Miles Briggs, who demanded that the public deserve to know more.

He has now called on the Scottish Government to release the names of those buildings.

In a statement, the Scottish Government said that if any issues are discovered in structural checks then repairs will be made.
