Pregnant woman "critical" after being hit by bus in Edinburgh
A pregnant woman is fighting for life in hospital after being hit by a bus in Edinburgh.
The collision happened at around 7pm last night at the junction of Lansdowne Crescent and Palmerston Place.
The 31-year-old was crossing the road when she was struck by a number 26 Lothian bus.
She was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious head injuries and is in a critical condition.
Her unborn child is believed to be unhurt.
Inspector Roger Park of Edinburgh's Road Policing Unit said: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with everyone involved.
“I would ask anyone who was in the Palmerston Place area around 7pm on Wednesday, January 24, and saw this collision, to get in touch with us at their earliest convenience.”
