After clearing the HGV, they repaired around 40 metres of metalwork.
It had been feared the closure would be in place until sometime on Thursday but the bridge reopened at around 9pm on Wednesday, roughly 19 hours after the lorry overturned during atrocious weather conditions.
The driver, aged 54, attempted to cross despite signs along the M90 warning the bridge was closed to high-sided vehicles.
He has been charged by police.
