Police vehicle collides with car while responding to emergency call in Edinburgh

The collision happened at around 8.35am this morning

A marked police car collided with another car, while it was responding to an emergency call in Edinburgh this morning (Tue 14th June).

The collision - which also involved a Skoda Citigo - happened at around 8.35am on Niddrie Mains Road.

The Skoda flipped onto its side, though its female driver escaped with just minor injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "While responding to an emergency call, a marked police vehicle was involved in a collision with another car on Niddrie Mains Road.

"As a result, the Skoda Citigo overturned onto its side requiring the attendance of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Scottish Ambulance Service.

"Road Policing Officers are now conducting inquiries to establish the full circumstances."
