Police are searching for two men in Bathgate who stole jewellery during a break in yesterday afternoon.

A house on Sylvan Way was broken into at around 4.30pm on December 30, when a number of items were taken.

The two men responsible were both white with Scottish accents, around 6ft tall, and wearing dark clothing with their faces covered.

West Lothian CID Detective Constable Emma Thacker said: “This break-in occurred while the family were at home and it caused them considerable alarm and upset.

"It's vital we trace the men responsible, and I am appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious or may have information that could assist with our enquiries to please get in touch.

“In addition, anyone with private CCTV or dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation is also asked to contact us.”

Officers can be contacted via 101, quoting reference 2443 of Saturday, 30 December, 2023. Alternatively, a call can be made anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
