Police will be out in force in Kirkcaldy on Saturday night - one week on from the murder of “a much loved son, brother and father”.
High-visibility patrols will be deployed in Tweed Avenue in the Fife town, seeking information on the death of Darren Adie.
The 42-year-old was found unconscious near the junction of Lawson Street at around 6.45pm on Saturday May 28.
He was taken to the Victoria Hospital where he died later. A murder investigation was launched after the results of a post-mortem examination.
Police are seeking anyone who saw anything suspicious around Tweed Avenue or Lawson Street.
Officers are also looking for anyone who may have seen Darren in the area prior to his death.
Darren was white, 5ft 10ins, with a stocky/muscular build and short dark hair. He wore a blue zip-up jacket, blue polo shirt and blue jeans.
Detective Chief Inspector Raymond Brown, from the Major Investigation Team, said: “It has now been one week since Darren's murder and our dedicated team of detectives and local resources are continuing with their inquiries to find his killer.
“As part of our investigation, uniformed officers will be out on patrol within Tweed Avenue and the surrounding area on Saturday evening to speak with local residents, and those who regularly frequent these streets, to identify anyone who may have vital information.
“If you believe you know or saw something then please speak to one of these officers while they were on patrol or visit our incident vehicle, which will be situated at the crime scene.
“Alternatively, anyone with information can contact us on 101 or make an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
Mr Adie's family paid tribute to him in a statement issued through police last week.
They said: “Darren was a much-loved son, brother and father who will be sorely missed.”
