Police investigating death of two-year-old girl in Falkirk

The child was pronounced dead by paramedics at an address in the Redding area.

A police investigation in underway into the “unexplained” death of a two-year-old girl in Falkirk.

Officers were called to an address in Ward Avenue in the Redding area on Thursday, after reports of a child becoming unwell.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 10.25am on Thursday, 2 July, officers were called to an address in Ward Avenue, Redding, Falkirk, following a report of a 2-year-old girl becoming unwell.

“The Scottish Ambulance Service attended and the child was pronounced dead a short time later.

“Enquiries are ongoing and the death is currently being treated as unexplained pending a post mortem.”
