Two men are being sought by police after a woman was raped in Falkirk.

The 25-year-old victim is said to be distraught following the attack on Saturday March 12.

Police Scotland said she had been been walking on Haugh Street in Bainsford, before she was assaulted by two men on waste ground leading to an area known as Coo Park.

The attack happened at some point between midnight and 1am.

Police in Forth Valley are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

One man is described as over 6ft tall, with a muscular build, between 25 to 35-years old, with a Scottish accent but not local. He was wearing a long-sleeved tight-fitted top, and trousers.

The second man was also over 6ft and of a similar age, with a slim build.

Detective Inspector Allyson Blair, of Larbert Police Station, said: This woman is obviously extremely upset and distraught following this attack.

Inquiries utilising both specialist and local resources have been ongoing since the incident was reported, and now we're asking members of the public for their help.

We're urging anyone who remembers seeing two men acting suspiciously around that time, or who recognises their descriptions, to speak to police.''

Those with information can contact police on 101 or the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
