Police have arrested a man after discovering £200,000 worth of drugs and cash in a house in the Haymarket area of Edinburgh.

Officers stormed the Caledonian Crescent property last Thursday (November 10) and discovered heroin with an estimated street value of almost £200,000, cocaine with a value of £31,800 and £67,000 cash.

Yesterday (November 16) Police arrested a 47-year-old man and he's been charged in connection with the recovery.

He will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (November 17).

Detective Inspector Gary Reid, Specialist Crime Division said: “We work every day to disrupt those involved in drugs supply and involved in serious and organised crime as they have no place in our communities.

“Anyone with information regarding drugs in their local area should contact their local police office through 101. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
