Police arrest man in prison car park fire inquiry

A number of vehicles were damaged in the blaze last month.

A man has been arrested in connection with a fire at a prison car park in West Lothian.

The incident happened at about 7.45pm on Friday August 12 at HMP Addiewell.

A number of vehicles were damaged.

A 22-year-old man has been charged with fireraising and drug supply following an investigation.

Detective Inspector Steven Bertram said: As a result of our investigation, a 22-year-old man has now been arrested and charged in connection with this incident.

I wish to thank everyone who has assisted us with our investigation but also want to stress that our enquiries into this matter are very much ongoing.

We're very keen to trace three other males who were involved in this attack and I'd urge anyone with information that can help identify them to come forward immediately.''
