Man charged with a string of attacks on elderly people in Polbeth

A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged with assaults on three elderly people, a man aged 30 and a police officer in Polbeth, West Lothian.

All the incidents happened from 7am on Saturday (3 Nov) in Polbeth Crescent and Polbeth Road.

The most serious charge is for the alleged attempted murder of a 79-year old man.

He is also charged with assaulting a 79-year-old woman, an 82-year-old man, a 30-year-old man and a police officer.

He is scheduled to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court today (Mon 5 Nov)
