Fife pedestrian killed by van on A823 named

A man who died following collision between pedestrian and van on A823 near Rosyth in Fife has been named by police as local man Alan James Lauder.

Mr Lauder, a pedestrian, was struck by a white MAN box van on the A823 near the M90 junction 2, Rosyth, at around 1.30am.

He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The van driver was uninjured.

Sergeant Colin Morrison, from Police Scotland's Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts continue to be with Mr Lauder’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time.

“I’d ask anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have dash cam footage of either the van or Mr Lauder before the collision happened, to provide any relevant information to officers at the earliest opportunity.”

Police are urging anyone with any information to get in touch on 101, quoting incident 0154 of 5th November 2021.
