Pedestrian Hit By Car In Edinburgh Crash
Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was involved in a collision with a car in Craigmillar on Thursday morning. Officers attended Craigmillar Castle Loan in response to a report that 59-year-old man had sustained a head injury. The incident involved a white coloured Kia Picanto at around 9:30am near the junction with Niddrie Mains Road. The man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he is currently receiving treatment while the driver of the Kia sustained no injuries. The thoroughfare is currently closed to traffic in both directions as officers carry out collision investigation work. Police are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward immediately if not already done so. Sergeant Kosmas Papakyriakou of Edinburgh road police said: “Our inquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would be interested to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident to contact police immediately. “The road is currently closed near Niddrie Mains Road and local diversions are in place. “I thank the members of the public for their patience and cooperation while we continue with our inquiries.” Anyone with relevant information should contact police on 101.
