Patient found after absconding during hospital outing

The restricted patient had absconded during an escorted hospital outing.

A restricted patient who absconded during an escorted hospital outing has been found.

Paul Brownlie went missing from the outing from the Orchard Clinic, part of the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, on Saturday.

Authorities had said they were keen to trace him as soon as possible.

A statement from the Scottish Government on Monday said: Mr Brownlie has now been located and is no longer at large.''
