Man, 77, mugged in 'random and unprovoked' attack
An elderly has been left 'extremely shaken' after he was assaulted and robbed on a street in the Northfield area of Edinburgh.
The 77-year old was targeted at around 5pm on Monday 16 December in Northfield Square.
The suspect approached from behind before knocking his victim to the ground and stealing cash from his pocket.
Detective Constable Christina Yeoman said: "This was a random and unprovoked attacked on an elderly man that this has left him extremely shaken.
"I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this assault or noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident".
