Drones banned above Princes Street Gardens for Hogmanay celebrations
Police Scotland have warned drone users of a 'no-fly-zone' above Princes Street Gardens during Hogmanay celebrations
Drone enthusiasts are being warned not to take their tech out for a spin above Princes Street Gardens on Hogmanay.
Police Scotland is informing operators that a 'no-fly-zone' will be in force during the celebrations.
Anyone caught breaking the restrictions will "be dealt with appropriately" according to a message on the Edinburgh Police Division Facebook page.
Between 5pm on Saturday, 31 December, and 3am on Sunday, January, no drones are permitted to fly within one nautical mile of Princes Street Gardens, unless they have the expressed permission of Police Scotland.
The Street Party is set to see tens of thousands of people celebrating with fireworks due to be set off at the bells.
Officers say in the interest of public safety, flying the devices will be prohibited.
