New police appeal in search for missing Edinburgh College student Antoine Maury
Antoine Maury was last seen around 3 weeks ago.
Police searching for a French student who has been missing for almost three weeks have issued a fresh appeal for information.
Antoine Maury, 21, was last seen at about 10pm on Monday October 24 when he left the company of his friends at Edinburgh College's Milton Road East campus.
A man matching his description was later seen between 10.45pm and 11pm near to the Duddingston Village area of Holyrood Park, heading into the park.
The man was believed to be topless and this is believed to be the last known sighing of Mr Maury.
Police launched a major search for Mr Maury and several specialist units have been deployed, including the dog section and the Police Scotland marine unit.
Sonar equipment has been used in the last two weeks across Duddingston Loch.
Mr Maury is described as white, of medium build and with bright green eyes. He is about 6ft with short brown hair, a beard and a fair complexion. He has a tattoo of a bleeding hand on his forearm.
At the last confirmed sighting, Mr Maury was wearing a brown/green bomber jacket with dark chinos and a white beanie hat. He is also believed to have been wearing black and white Vans trainers.
Mr Maury was born and raised in Paris but moved to St Andrews to study when he was 16.
He suffers from poor eyesight and usually wears glasses but officers believe he is without them.
Inspector Alan Carson said: We are interested in speaking to anyone who was in Holyrood Park between the hours of 10.30pm and 11.30pm on Monday October 24, whether they saw Antoine or not.
Equally, we are keen to hear from anyone that was in the areas around Duddingston Village, Duddingston Loch or Prestonfield golf club the following day, Tuesday October 25, who may have seen or heard anything unusual.
Even the smallest amount of information may be the key to helping us find him.
This is still a live investigation and we will carry on our search until we have exhausted our search parameters.''
