Scotland's most popular tourist attraction will be open for business this weekend after strike action was called off.
National Museums Scotland and the Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) have been locked in a long-running dispute over weekend pay.
Following the latest round of talks, the union has decided to suspend a proposed strike on Saturday and Sunday.
National Museums Scotland said: Following further dialogue this week between National Museums Scotland and the Public and Commercial Services Union, planned strike action for April 9 and 10 at the National Museum of Scotland has been suspended.
The National Museum of Scotland will, therefore, be fully open as usual and all scheduled activities will take place as planned.
The National War Museum, National Museum of Flight and National Museum of Rural Life will all also be fully open as usual.
Joint discussions continue with a view to reaching a permanent resolution to the dispute.''
