Yasmin Javed, the mother of Fawziyah Javed will be going to Parliament this week, to call for a statuary definition of honour-based abuse.

It's after her daughter was murdered by her husband Kashif Anwar, after he pushed her off Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh, Scotland. At the time of her death, Fawziyah was pregnant.

The event will see MPs watch a documentary aired on Channel 4 last April, called 'The Push: Murder on the Cliff. This week also marks the week Fawziyah's baby was due to be born.

Yasmin is being supported by Karma Nirvana, an honour-based abuse charity in Leeds. They have a statutory definition of honour-based abuse they'd like to see implemented into law.

Together, along with Leeds Central and Headingley MP, Alex Sobel it's hoped they can get the backing they need, to start the process.

Speaking to us, Yasmin Javed said: "We're hoping this is the first step in the right direction, to bring about change and to bring a legal definition of honour-based abuse."

Yasmin also said: "There has to be change, enough is enough, there is an epidemic out there, women getting murdered."

Kashif Anwar, from Pudsey, near Leeds, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 20 years.
