Mum of French student confirms body found in Edinburgh loch is her son
The mother of a missing French student has confirmed the body found in an Edinburgh Loch on Friday is her son.
Antoine Maury was last seen more than a month ago.
He disappeared after he suddenly left a group of friends at around 10.30pm on the 24th of October at Edinburgh College’s Milton Road Campus.
Yesterday morning police recovered a body from the Duddingston Loch in Edinburgh, and have yet to confirm the man's identity, but on Facebook his mother Laura Maury confirmed it is him.
She said: 'For all of you out there and particularly to all of Antoine's, older and more previous friends. My beloved sons body was recovered in the Duddingston Loch earlier this morning. Antoine would had turned 22 on the 31st of December this year. Thank you all for your help and support during the last 5 and 1/2 weeks. God bless you all'.
