Movie set in Highlands to open 2019 Edinburgh International Film Festival
A movie set in the Highlands and described as a 'riotous social satire' will open this year's Edinburgh International Film Festival.
The European premiere of 'Boyz in the Wood' will lift the curtain on the event in June.
It follows the story of four city boys who try to escape a mysterious huntsman played by Eddie Izzard
It also features rising stars Rian Gordon, Samuel Bottomley, Viraj Juneja and Lewis Gribben lead and EIFF Honorary Patron James Cosmo.
Mark Adams, Artistic Director of Edinburgh International Film Festival added: “We are thrilled to be opening this year’s festival with this vibrant, energetic and wonderfully raucous new film that showcases a wide range of Scottish talent, from rising stars to established performers. Boyz in the Wood is a blast from start to finish and will start EIFF perfectly."
