Motorcyclist killed in West Lothian crash

A motorcyclist who died in a road accident in West Lothian has been identified by police.

Police Scotland named the man as Derek Simpson, aged 47, from Bridgend, West Lothian.

Mr Simpson died when his motorcycle, which was travelling east on the B9080, left the road on Wednesday April 12.

Emergency teams attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mr Simpson's family released a statement through Police Scotland.

It said: We as a family are devastated by the loss of our beloved son, brother and father Derek Simpson.

We wish to be left in private to mourn.''
