Mother of missing Fife RAF man Corrie McKeague fears someone else involved in dissappearance
The mother of missing RAF serviceman Corrie McKeague has said she believes someone else must be involved in her son's disappearance.
The mother of missing RAF serviceman Corrie McKeague has said she believes someone else must be involved in her son's disappearance.
Mr McKeague, 23, vanished nearly a month ago after going out for the evening with friends in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
His mother Nicola Urquhart, from Dunfermline, Fife, fears a third party may have been involved, but police are yet to find evidence of criminality.
Speaking on Thursday, Ms Urquhart said she believes her son is still alive.
She added: “Corrie is quite clearly seen on CCTV walking in the middle of the road and then into this loading bay where vehicles and bins and stuff are.
“He never gets seen coming back out. There's not one image of Corrie on CCTV in the entire area of Bury that's been captured.
“It would take an expert with months of preparation to be able to evade that - and Corrie wasn't trying to.
“There's been no preparation, there's been no planning. He has just vanished - and as a police officer I know that doesn't happen.
“Somebody else must be involved because he's not seen leaving on foot at all.”
Officers had earlier searched a bin lorry, believing Mr McKeague's mobile phone had been lost or discarded and ended up with the rubbish, but it was not found.
Mr McKeague, based at RAF Honington in Suffolk, was last seen on CCTV at about 3.20pm on Saturday September 24 in Bury St Edmunds.
He was walking alone and eating fast-food.
He is believed to have been wearing a pink Ralph Lauren polo shirt and brown suede Timberland boots at the time of his disappearance.
He is white, 5ft 10in and of medium build, with short, light brown hair.
