Residents near the Mossmoran chemical plant in Fife are dealing with another bout of unplanned flaring at the site.

Exxon Mobil - who operate the plant - say its down to a "mechanical fault" and hope to have the issue resolved by later today.

SEPA also says it is aware of the issue and is looking in to it.

It comes just weeks after another period of unplanned flaring which caused disruption for six days around Easter Sunday.

James Glen, from the Mossmoran Action Group, says: "People are angry and people are fed up. We feel let down cause here we are again. The issues have been happening since 1985, and here we are in 2019 and there are still the same issues. Nobody is taking responsibility.

"Today at 9:50am we started receiving reports from residents of loud roaring, sounding like a jet engine fgoing overhead, residents started posting videos of their homes and doors shaking from the vibrations coming off the plant."
