Concern is growing for an Edinburgh woman who disappeared over the New Year - after saying she was heading for a party.

Alice Byrne, who's 28, was last seen on Bath Street in Portobello, between 2am and 3am on Saturday, January the 1st.

Friends and family have taken to social media to appeal to the public for help to find her.

Her brother, Bruno, said: "We are all really worried and ask if anyone has seen her or spoken to her please contact the police.

"We believe she is in Edinburgh or East Lothian potentially but she could be anywhere."

It's understood Alice left home on Hogmanay without her mobile phone.
