Emergency services and lifeboat crews are continuing the search for an East Lothian man who was on a boat which capsized in Argyll and Bute.

23-year-old Keiran Cowan was one of three people on board the vessel in Loch Awe when it got into difficulty on Saturday afternoon.

The other two, aged 23 and 27, managed to swim to a nearby island and raise the alarm.

They were rescued and taken by ambulance to Lorn and Islands Hospital in Oban and later discharged

The Police Scotland Dive and Marine Unit and members of the Mountain Rescue Team have since been scouring the area to find Kieran.

His family has also released a statement.

It read: "Kieran always sees the good in a bad situation. He has a heart of gold and loves life.

"He lights up the room with his infectious smile and his motto is: it is what it is."

A joint Police Scotland and Marine Accident Investigation Branch enquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
