Micky Yule battling back to his best after infection blow
The Paralympic powerlifter from Wallyford had to learn to walk again - for a second time.
A Paralympic powerlifter and former soldier from Wallyford is telling Forth News about finding the strength to learn to walk again after recent surgery.
Micky Yule has enjoyed sporting success in weightlifting, despite losing both legs while serving in Afghanistan.
But a recent infection led to a big operation and left him back at square one.
A recent video of him taking his first steps went viral on social media.
Micky says he's determined to get back to his best, "It is something you should only have to go through once in your life when you are a wee baby.
"You shouldn't have to be constantly learning to walk again as an adult, but it is my life at the moment.
"My son, Charlie is always there for me and he was keen that he was going to hold my hand as I was taking my first steps along the living-room."
And Micky is still hoping to compete in a weightlifting tournament in Tokyo next month.
He told Forth News, "There will be a lot of my competition seeing me on my social media and thinking that i'm in my wheelchair, not training and feeling down but i'm up and i'm walking.
"I'm training harder than ever and feeling good so if they are expecting me to be really down about what I can achieve then they're going to be wrong"
