Men Vault Counter and Threaten Staff while Robbing Bookies on Gorgie Road

Two men vaulted over the counter of a bookies in Edinburgh before threatening staff and escaping through a back garden with a four-figure sum of cash.

They targeted a branch of Labrokes on Gorgie Road at around 9.15am on Saturday.

After the robbery, they ran into the rear gardens at Westfield Road and were last seen in Stevenson Road

Both men are thought to be in their late twenties and around 5ft 5" in height. They were wearing hooded tops and dark coloured jogging bottoms.

Detective Sergeant John Graham said: "Both men had weapons in their possession and caused extreme distress to staff members on duty whilst carrying out this robbery.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who can help us in tracing theses individual.

"Anyone who was in the Gorgie Road area of Edinburgh at around 9.15am on Saturday morning and remembers seeing anything suspicious is asked to contact police immediately."
