Edinburgh's Jennifer Dodds is among the recipients of MBE's in the Queen's honour list.

The 30-year-old and the rest of her 'Team Muirhead' teammates have been recognised for their Winter Olympics heroics earlier in the year.

They came home from Beijing with gold in the curling.

"First of all, it was a great honour." She told Forth News, highlighting that the award being part of the Queen's platinum jubilee made it even sweeter.

"It's been a crazy. We started our season back in September, and we have we've had a lot of success.

"This season, we have won the European Championships, we won the Olympic qualifier event, even just to get to the Olympics, and then obviously winning the Olympics, which was incredible.

"I still haven't really kind of let it sink in that it happened."

But has Dodds managed to keep her big news under wraps?

"The team we all knew each other was getting one. And it was it was funny, because there's been a couple of moments even just like with friends I've maybe been about to say something and I was like, oh, no, no, no, have to keep that quiet kind of thing."

During the games curling captured the imagination of the nation.

That's shown at Jennifer's home rink, Curl Edinburgh, where demand has sky rocketed, she said:

"They had already planned come and try sessions for all age groups. But the had to put more on and I think they like doubled the amount of come and try sessions.

They said there was so much interest for curling, which is which is great. I just hope people keep coming back to the sport because it's summer now."
