Detectives are appealing for information after a petrol station in Dunfermline was broken into during an overnight series of raids also targeting sites in Glasgow.

The incident in Fife happened around 12.25am on Friday when three masked individuals forced entry to a premises on Turnstone Road and made off with a sum of cash.

Just under two hours later, a similar break-in was attempted at a garage in Old Shettleston, Glasgow, but nothing was stolen. A third incident followed at 2.40am at Cobden Road in the Springburn area of the city, where another sum of cash was taken.

Police believe the break-ins are linked and are hunting those responsible.

Detective Sergeant Robert Carrigan said: “We believe the same individuals are behind all three incidents. A silver Ford Fiesta was seen in the Dunfermline area and a blue Ford Fiesta was involved in the Glasgow break-ins.

“We’re urging anyone who was in any of the areas at the time and saw anything suspicious - or has dash-cam or CCTV footage - to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference 0312 of 6 June 2025.
