Man Suffers Serious Injury After Attack In Edinburgh
A man was left with a facial injury when he was assaulted after leaving an Edinburgh nightclub.
The serious assault happened at around 3am on Saturday when the 23-year-old male victim left the club on Picardy Place.
He walked towards Leith Walk before stopping to speak to a man.
The man was seen assaulting him before walking away in the direction of Leith Walk.
The victim was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with an injury to his face.
He was later transferred to St John's Hospital in Livingston for further treatment.
Officers are appealing for information.
The suspect is described as a white man, aged between 25-30, with a medium build.
He is around 5'6 to 5'7 in height with short dark hair. He also has a round face with stubble.
He was believed to be wearing a navy or black blazer, a checked shirt and dark denim jeans. He may have been in the same nightclub as the victim, police said.
Detective Constable Joe Perkins said: "This was a violent assault, which has left the victim with a significant facial injury that will require further treatment.
"We would ask anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack, or who recognises the suspect description, to get in touch with us immediately.''
