Man seriously injured after assault in Cowgate, Edinburgh

A man has been seriously injured in a an assault in Edinburgh's Cowgate area, Police have realised CCTV images of a man they'd like to speak to in regards to the incident

A man has been seriously injured after being pushed over in a city centre assault in Edinburgh.

The 43-year-old was involved in a verbal altercation in the early hours of Friday the 14th of October between Cowgate and Candlemaker Row.

Now Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down another man they'd like to talk to in relation with the incident.

The man who may have information is described as aged between 18 and 25-years-old, thin build, short hair, carrying a skateboard and wearing a grey and black hooded top, dark trousers and grey trainers.

Detective Constable Kieran Keddie, of Edinburgh CID, said: “The victim sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident and our enquiries are ongoing.

“It is believed the male pictured will be able to assist the investigation and anyone who recognises him is asked to come forward.”
