Man seriously assaulted in Dunbar car park

East Lothian police are hunting two men who attacked a man in a Dunbar car park, causing serious facial injuries.

The assault took place between 10.30pm and 11pm on Saturday 14 July in the Barns Ness area.

The 51-year-old was brutally beaten outside his van, before the two attackers entered his vehicle and stole a number of personal items.

The suspects are described as white and in their early 30s.

Detective Sergeant Gavin Morrison from Dalkeith CID said: “As a result of this incident the man has been left with serious injuries and we are eager to trace those responsible as soon as possible.

“I would ask anyone who may have been in the car park at Barns Ness on Saturday night, and who witnessed the suspects immediately before, or after the assault, to come forward.

“Equally anyone who may have seen the vehicle or the suspects in the Dunbar area, or has any information to assist our investigations, is asked to come forward as soon as possible.”
