Man named following fatal Fife crash

A 61-year-old man killed in an early morning road crash in Fife has been named as Frank MacFarlane.

Emergency services were called to the incident at 5:35am on Friday July 31st, on the A985 between Cairneyhill roundabout and Kincardine where Mr MacFarlane's blue BMW 3 series left the road and struck a wall.

He was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where he died yesterday.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

Sergeant Alastair Purvis, of Fife Road Policing said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr MacFarlane at this difficult time.

“Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. We would urge anybody who was driving on the road and may have dashcam footage or witnessed the incident to contact police.”
