Man jailed for 7 years for historical sexual offences in West Lothian

A man's been jailed for abusing three boys in West Lothian.
74-year-old Ramond Rarity has been sentenced to seven years in prison after earlier being found guilty of non-recent sexual offences against children.
Ramon Rarity committed the offences on three boys aged 11 and 12, between 1997 and 1998, in the Seafield area of West Lothian.
The crimes occurred between 1997 and 1999 in addresses in West Lothian.
A judge stated at the High Court in Glasgow that boys had been "let down by the criminal justice system" for years before Rarity was finally found guilty.
Detective Constable Lynn Morrison said: “Thanks to the courage of the three men in reporting the attacks that took place when they were younger, we were able to build a significant case against Rarity, that ultimately resulted in his conviction and sentence.
“I want to make it clear to anyone who has experienced sexual abuse that there is no time limit on when you can report these crimes. We will always conduct a thorough investigation, no matter how long ago the incidents occurred and we will do all we can to bring perpetrators of such offences to justice.”
