Man hunt after attempted armed robbery at Edinburgh shop

Police are hunting for a man following an attemped armed robbery at a shop in Edinburgh yesterday.

Police are hunting for a man following an attemped armed robbery at a shop in Edinburgh yesterday.

It happened at around 6pm, when a man in his 20's approached a worker at a convenience store on Cragentinny Road.

He presented a knife and demanded money and cigarettes. The worker refused and the suspect fled the scene. The suspect is described as white, of slim build and around 5 ft 4 inches tall. He was wearing a dark blue hooded jacket, dark bottoms tucked into black socks, dark coloured trainers which had a white logo at the top and orange or red soles. He was carrying a black cotton ‘bag for life’ with a white logo on it. He was last seen running up Loganlea Road.
