Police in Edinburgh have arrested and charged a man following an attempted armed robbery at a convenience store in Restalrig.
Police in Edinburgh have arrested and charged a man following an attempted armed robbery at a convenience store in Restalrig.
The incident was reported to Police on Saturday 13th February.
Detective Chief Inspector Martin Maclean said: “Following some excellent work by Edinburgh’s Violence Reduction Unit, a man has now been charged with the attempted armed robbery of a local shopkeeper in Restalrig Road.
“Tackling robbery and violent crime is priority for Edinburgh’s CID and I’d like to thank the public for their support during this investigation." The 34-year-old is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday 29 February.
